On October the 23rd let’s elect
Roger Doiron
Councillor for Richibucto for the town of Beaurivage
I have been committed to my community since I arrived in Richibucto in 1966. I would be honored and feel privileged to have the opportunity to serve you as Councillor for the ward of Richibucto. The people of Richibucto have given me the opportunity over 10 years to contribute to the well-being of the community and I wish to have the chance to continue to serve for the next years.
Let's work together to develop our new town
Having been mayor required the ability to advocate for the needs of your town and the ability to see projects through to completion. I have demonstrated the ability and determination to get things done. I have been trusted to lead organizations at the local, provincial, national and international levels. Ex:
School principal (28 years)
Executive Director of the "Société des enseignants retraités francophones du NB" (8 years)
Executive Director of the "Association francophones des ainées du NB" (8 years)
President of the "Association des municipalités francophones du NB" (4 years)
President of the "Fédération des ainés francophones du Canada"
and many more (See Resume)
In terms of my formal education, I have a Master's degree in education.
Having been mayor required access to decision makers, leaders and the media. My many involvements have allowed me to develop trusting relationships with a large number of civil servants, elected officials (ministers and MLAs), leaders of organizations as well as the media (television, radio and newspapers).
Having been mayor required commitment, dedication, availability and time. You must be willing to take the time to do your job well. The common good must absolutely come before the individual good. I have always put the common good before my personal interest. I have participated and chaired several boards of directors at the local, provincial, national and international levels; the common good has always been my priority.
In a municipal council you should expect, as citizens, to have competent members who are committed to the development of their community and who work according to certain values such as:
honesty
transparency
respect
open-mindedness
equality
For me, every person deserves respect and fair treatment.
The common good: working hard to make everyone feel part of the new town.
Taxes and finances: ensuring quality services for the money you pay while keeping the tax rate at a fair level.
Accountability by the Municipal Council
Safety: four-lane highway to Kouchibouguac and improved roads and streets in the new town.
Housing: availability of housing for all.
Environment: a water, air, land and waste management plan.
Economy: develop our economy.
Tourism: develop our tourism potential.
Wellness: putting forward programs to ensure a good quality of life.
